Good Mood

I have so many rants in my head that I want to write, but right now I just can't do it. There is this letter to the editor that I really want to respond to, but I haven't been able to cut it down to only 200 words (it's almost 600 right now), nor have I had the desire to truly whittle it down. I just don't want to depress my self right now.

This past weekend was filled with a fabulous camping with good friends and bears. One thing one has to learn to love when camping is dirt. Dirt is good, dirt is your friend, you will not get rid of dirt from your body until you can soak in a tub when you get home. So don't even try.

Then I came home and found my car horrible vandalized by some punk kids with way too much time on their hands. I mean, who would really spend the time creating a paper chain, frog, fish, and flowers and writing a poem that was total rip off of Shakespeare? Kids should stay home and do something productive like, I don't know, prepare the nursery for their new baby sister or brother. Sigh. My poor car. :-)

Then I meet up with three different friends in three days. Dinner with one on Monday (a bribe I had to pay), a movie with another (and my last social phob class. YEAAA), and then dinner with another friend today. Hopefully tomorrow I will finally meet with the woman whom I am working with on the Med Center Trauma project. Up till now we have only communicated via e-mail.

Today, after dinner, I stopped off in bookstore (yes darling, a local used bookstore) just to pass the time and I saw the fourth book of Steven King's Dark Tower series staring at me. I took it as a sign (yes, I know, I don't really believe in signs. But it takes very little to talk me into buying a book) that it was time for me to buy the next installment and read it. I finished book three over a year ago.

Best of all, the condo I want? That beautiful, lovely, gorgeous, thing? The asking price was dropped 20,000. This is the hot season for sales. Once you start getting close to the beginning of school, fewer and fewer people buy because they don't want to move their kids around. So the likelihood is that the cost will drop even more. Oh, how beautiful that sounds. Now all I need is a job... which probably won't happen until august or september. So a couple more months of freedom left and then I will join the real world.

I am looking forward to settling down and doing some of the things that I really want to do. For the past four years, I feel like my life has been in constant upheaval, making it hard to know what I am going to do and to devote time to projects I am interested in such as theater, politics, and dance. I worked graves for a year, I was in Europe for six month, I worked in Davis for six months, I went to school for two years. Now I just want to settle, earn some money, and have a life for a while. Get to know my friends again, meet new people (mayhap of the male persuasion), and do cool things. I might go back to school and I might not, but, I need a break!!!

Anyway, with my good mood lasting this long, it's been hard to rant. But don't worry. I have a few ready to burst out of me (and anyone talking to me for any lenght of time can attest to that) so your weekly rant will return shortly.
