Idiot for Mayor

Did you know that Sacramento elected an idiot for mayor? I did. I knew he was an idiot before the election. Somehow a lot people in Sacramento missed that fact, which had something to do with him being a famous basketball player who was on the Sacramento Kings at one point, and decided to vote for him. Can you imagine people ignoring facts and just electing someone because they were famous? Gosh, that would never happen. And gosh, that couldn't be that bad, could it? I mean famous people who get elected to office can't really cause that much damage. Which reminds me, anyone planning on seeing the new Terminator movie?

I'll admit, the mayoral race was between Tweedledee and Tweedledum, but at least Tweedledum wasn't destructive - just immobile (and I'm not referring to her health in any way). Tweedledee however, hailed the success of his charter high, St. Hope, but wouldn't release test scores, explain why the enrollment kept dropping year after year, or talk about why they were in so much debt (they were 1 million behind in payments to the Sacramento City School District under Tweedledee). His campaign forgot to mention that Tweedledee was on a list of people unable to be given federal money because of previous misuse. I'm thinking it's bad for the city for the leader to not be able to be given federal money, especially since it's being passed out like candy these days and Sacramento could really use some of it. Luckily with a deal made about 1 month ago, he agreed to pay 1/2 the money back and his name was taken off the list.

Well, good, except one of St. Hope's staffers quit, leaving behind an 8 page note explaining in detail how Tweedeldee misused funds and then one of his buddies erased emails since there was a big investigation going on. Great, glad to know there might have been obstruction of justice by my mayor.

This guy's an idiot. Truely an idiot. This is a guy who, on his first day in office, said the mayor needed more power. He said this at his FIRST city council meeting. Seriously, what person starts off like that?

So, what a shock, his people are leaving. Chris Young, one of his advisors, is off to work for Obama. The story is he always planned to go work for Obama since he was the finance director during the campaign, the question was when. Funny that. I went to go see Chris speak right after the election. He said he had been offered a job by Obama, but really wanted to come back to Sacramento and make changes in his home town. He hated to turn down the job, but felt he could have more of an impact at a local level helping Tweedledee. My guess is, when all of this bad stuff started going down, he called Obama and begged for a job. Good for him, sucks for us because that means a decent person is no longer helping out the idiot.

Go Chris. Do well. Come back and run for Mayor then Senator. I'll vote for you. Heck, I'll work on your campaign.

Until then, I have to deal with the tweedledee (and I've been told, by a friend of a friend that he's also a misogynistic pig - but no proof yet) ruining the city while idiot #1 ruins my State and his lovely wife plants a veggie garden in the state park just to show how cool veggies are. Yes, i'm serious.

I hate stupid people.
