It's weird. When I was in school, I could think of a million things to write about, and now, practically nothing. Maybe it's because I see the people the read this blog on a much more regular basis then before, or the video card in my tower isn't working and is driving me nuts, or maybe what I am thinking about is too personal (or I talk about them way too often) to be put out there for display. Or maybe I am just lazy, but I don't think that's true.
So who here believes in new years resolutions? Nope, me either. Used to always make them and break them. I always had some lofty goals "This year I will win that million dollars" that just never panned out. A friend told me that a boss of hers used to make easy resolutions that did require a change, but never all that hard. Like, crossing her 7's. I like that. But I can't think of anything small that I really need to (or want to) do.
Instead, I have decided to make goals. Maybe, if they aren't breakable, I might actually follow thru on some of them. Or maybe not, I will tell you next year.
Let's see
1.) Remember my friend's birthday's---on their birthday. Did I ever tell you about the time that I wished happy birthday to my friend months early? Right day-wrong month. I've done it more than once, and to more than one friend. It runs in the family, my brother does it too. He has a friend to whom he has apologized for wishing a happy birthday late when he really was a month early.
2.) Go to two weddings. I have this really weird feeling that I just might be able to follow through on this one. Don't know why I think that, but I do.
3.) Two parter - Always complain about my lack of finances as an excuse not to do anything I don't want to (HAHAHAHA-Just kidding) but to make sure people realize that I do not regret buying my house, talk about how much I love it to anyone that will listen.
4.) Supply the necessary cynicism and sarcasm at Jenny's Oscar party and other friendly get togethers. Without me, there would be no eye-rolling, sighing, or exchanging exasperated glances. It's an important function, otherwise everyone might get along without any sort of argument and ...... I DON'T BELIEVE IN FAERIES!!!
5.) Talk with my hands when discussing politics (CHECK).
6.) Don't compare myself to others and think I should be more like them. Holy moly - how did a serious one get in here (not saying that the birthday thing isn't serious, I mean really, I will try, promise)?
7.)Work on a political campaign (yep, he's running, and I want to work for him. Watch out for those hands).
8.) Do something in theater!!! I'm going crazy surrounded by all these normal people.
9.) Return the game of Apples to Apples I borrowed to it's real owners (so, you probably want it back by the time your son can read, right??).
10.) Drink a beer... or two... or more.
11.) Listen to Spanish radio and speak Spanish to someone outside my family..... ordering a taco in Spanish at El Marichi counts. So there.
12.) Act like a hobbit (well duh, like everyday. Seconds anyone?)
13.) Turn another year older, hopefully. Think of the alternative. Not pretty.
14.) Dance like no on is watching, work like I don't need money, and love like I've never been hurt (oh god, there's no way)
15.) And overall, just be a nicer person!!!!
HAPPY 2007
Love to all
