Yep, I did it. I called and turned down the job. The women I talked to said she understood why. She suspected that I wasn't going to take it becuase she didn't think that I was going to be happy there. In my interview, she told me that I would be bored working there. So, hopefully all is for the best. I just hope I get a call from the med center (please, please, please ... fingers crossed) :-)
Today has been a day for phone calls. For the most part, I hate phones. I really do. They are annoying little pieces of crap. But without phones, we wouldn't have had phone-lines, without phones lines, there wouldn't be an internet, without an internet....I don't know what I would do. I do everything on-line. I even have a freakin' blog!! My life is based around the computer. AHHH. Oh, and a phone saved my ass last sat night (thanks Shawn and Shannon).
Anyways, I had to call someone today about being a hobbit for the Middle Earth Festival next year. She casted me as not just any ol' hobbit, but as an actual character. See I'm now Frodo (I didn't tell her that Merry was my first choice.) She said I would be a great Frodo, as long as I was willing to wear a wig. My hair is even too short for a hobbit. Then the two of us get to talking, and it turns out that she has worked at the renissance faire (ale booth) and Dicken's. Next thing she tells me is that I would be a great pick-pocket at Dicken's and I need to get in contact with her a couple of months before Christmas and she will set me up. Again, I am not sure that being told I make a great pick-pocket is a compliment or not.
Another phone call today, which leads to another phone call tomorrow, because somebody wants to have a phone interview with me tomorrow. It's for a health care analyst in San Francisco. That means I have to talk on the phone tomorrow with someone I don't know for a half hour. Sigh. I hate phones
